Galerie Chantal Crousel congratulates Pierre Huyghe on being awarded the Grand Prix artistique de la Fondation Simone et Cino Del Duca — Institut de France. This prize celebrates his entire career, on the recommendation of the Académie des beaux-arts.
Conceptual artist Pierre Huyghe, born in 1962, questions and redefines the notion of the artwork, considering it as a living entity in constant mutation. He conceives his works as speculative fictions that take various forms, such as aquariums, films, sculptures integrating the living or specific sites that learn, modify and evolve.
Pierre Huyghe's exhibitions question our relationship to the world and generate new possibilities. With his latest exhibition, Liminal, currently on view at Punta Della Dogana, the artist challenges our perception of reality as if we were becoming strangers to ourselves, from a perspective other than that of the human—inhuman.
